Event: The International Cooperation Week focused on the Erasmus+ KA171 program, strengthening involvement with third countries and sharing experiences.

Currently, over 120 million people are displaced worldwide, seeking safety far from home to escape war, violence, and persecution. The number of internally displaced people has doubled in the last decade, reaching a record high.
One of the priorities of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Georgia is to raise awareness about the challenges faced by refugees, especially among young people. To address this, UNHCR Georgia has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts and is announcing a competition for students of the Faculty of Fine Arts!
Topic: “Hope Far From Home – The Experience of Forced Displacement”
The competition will be judged by a special jury, and the three winning works will receive prizes. In addition, the winning pieces will be used in the branding of UNHCR Georgia in the future.
Prizes:
• 1st Place – 3500 GEL gift card for City Mall
• 2nd Place – 2500 GEL gift card for City Mall
• 3rd Place – 1500 GEL gift card for City Mall
In December 2024, an exhibition will be held at the Art Academy to showcase all the competition entries.

A one-semester Erasmus+ mobility selection competition is announced for students of the Faculty of Design, Fashion Design Department at Tbilisi State Academy of Arts (TSSA). The selected student will attend the High School of Art in Castellón, Spain during the spring semester of the 2024-2025 academic year.
Required Documents (to be submitted to the Dean of the Faculty of Design, Head of Fashion Design, and the Commission in English):
• Portfolio

• Mark sheet (in Georgian)
• Letter of motivation
• English language certificate (B2 level) or proof of English proficiency issued by a TSSA foreign language teacher
• Application for participation (with a photo of the application after registering it at the TSSA office)
Eligibility: Students from the 3rd year of the bachelor’s program or higher, and master’s students are eligible to apply.

Important Notes:

The TSA Erasmus partner, Professor Lucyna Kolendo, a photography expert from the Academy of Fine Arts, Gdańsk, Poland, visited the Photography Department at the Apollon Kutateladze State Academy of Arts in Tbilisi, Faculty of Media Arts.
During her visit, Professor Kolendo had a meeting with the Rector of the Art Academy, Karaman Kutateladze, and other representatives from the Academy. On October 16, she conducted a workshop for students on the theme “Combining Photography and Creative Writing.”

The Center for Continuing Education invites participants to join the Porcelain Course, designed for those interested in working with plaster molds, extruding miniature sculptures, and mastering the techniques of porcelain processing, glazing, and painting.
The works will be fired in an electric oven at 1250°C, and participants will have the option to use the raku technique, a rare method in Georgia.

The Center for Continuing Education invites participants to join the Partition Enamel course, designed to teach techniques of creating partition enamel artwork. The course will help students develop both artistic and practical skills for working with materials, including selecting and creating sketches, processing forms and partitions, manufacturing, and filling works with enamel to achieve the final look.
During the course, students will create:

• An enamel painting on copper

The Center for Continuing Education invites all interested participants to enroll in an intensive sculpture course focused on learning the basic technical and technological processes of sculpture. Participants will explore molding plastic, sculpting with materials such as plasticine, clay, and plaster, and will gain practical experience in creating simple and complex forms, including relief, bas-relief, and high-relief sculptures. The course will also cover the reproduction and replication of forms using single and multiple molds.
This course is open to all adult individuals or groups who are interested in learning about and studying the profession of sculpture.
