The two winning contestants of the Dresden International Plainer were revealed on May 13, 2024. The team of the Dresden International Plainer, composed of German and Georgian artistic directors, revealed the two winning contestants for “Palais Sommer 2024.”
The winners are: Mariam Okribelashvili and Mate Tskvitinidze, students of the 4th and 3rd year of painting at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts. In July 2024, they will travel to Dresden, create open-air canvases, and participate in the “Culture. Synchronization” exhibition.
We congratulate our students and wish them success!

A competition is announced for students of the III and IV years of the painting department of the Tbilisi Apollon Kutateladze State Academy of Arts—Faculty of Fine Arts, which will reveal two new participants of the Dresden International Plain Air.

The Dresden International Plain Air is the main component of one of Germany’s largest cultural and educational festivals, Palais Sommer. The students of the Academy of Arts have been involved in it since 2013, at the initiative of the project’s founder, honorary professor of the Academy Alexander-Aleko Adamia (1962-2019).

The competition involves two stages: the students’ works are considered in general and by the plain air specifications, which are selected by the German and Georgian artistic directors of the project. Then, the selected candidates are interviewed. The winners will travel to Dresden, create works with German artists, and participate in various cultural activities. The festival fully funds all travel, living, and working expenses.

▫️ Project duration – 05/07/24 – 05/08/24

▫️Interested persons, please send a 10/15 photo/portfolio of painting work and CV to the following address: shakarashviliart@gmail.com

The deadline for receiving works is May 3, 8:00 p.m
