The contest is announced for the TSAA Ceramic arts department students of the Design Faculty, for an Erasmus mobility at the Kastamonu University, Turkey, for the summer semester, 2025 -1 mobility place .
The application process requirements are the following:
· portfolio
· CV
· transcript of records
· motivation letter
· English language certificate-Level B2, or reference, issued by the TSAA English language teacher

The noted above documents should be presented to the Dean of the design faculty and head of the Ceramics Department and the faculty Board.

The TSSA Faculty of Design announces a selection competition for one-semester Erasmus mobility for textile design students (2 places) for the spring semester of the 2024-2025 academic year at Osnabrück University, Germany.

• B2 English language certificate or proof of B2 level (issued by TSSA foreign language teacher)

As part of the collaboration with the University of Applied Sciences in Graz, Austria – FH Joanneum University of Applied Sciences – the development of a new “Exhibition Design” program has begun. In the initial phase, the program will be introduced at the TSSA Center for Continuing Education, followed by its implementation at the Faculty of Fine Arts.

 In September, the first meeting between TSSA professors Christine Darchia (art historian, curator) and Dato Silagadze (painting director) took place in Graz. The second meeting, involving two additional TSSA professors, is scheduled for January 2025. TSSA representatives explored the ‘Exhibition Design’ program, reviewed its subjects and credits, and attended the diploma work defenses.

Students selection call is announced for an Erasmus mobility at the University of FH Salzburg, Salzburg, Austria, in the summer semester, 2025. The call is dedicated to the students of the Faculty of Design, Industrial Design, and Furniture Design and Artistic Wood Processing Department.”

The Fashion Design Department of the Faculty of Design at Apollon Kutateladze Tbilisi State Academy of Art continues its seminar series as part of the international educational project “Design Lab – Intertextual Synergy in Design”!
Introducing Elena Releyeva/Elena EWEST, founder of the international organization “EWST Fashionlab” and an international expert in fashion design (globally known as a master of zero-waste pattern making and draping):

By special invitation – Julian Roberts (a world-renowned British master of non-traditional patterns, an expert in the field of design), is currently a professor of fashion and textile design at the University of Portsmouth and a trustee of the Graduate Fashion Foundation (GFF/GFW) in Great Britain.

The international educational project “Design Lab – Intertextual Synergy in Design” is organized by the Faculty of Design – Fashion Design. Its purpose includes:
• Strengthening sustainability and green practices in the Textile & Apparel (T&A) industry, expanding new educational formats and scope, and incorporating international copyright programs as training courses, specifically:
1. Development of new green/sustainable curricula: Implementing joint curricula/courses in study programs (MA, BA) with the contribution of internationally recognized experts’ copyright programs.
2. Sharing real-world experience in green and sustainable practices to support graduates (via specially organized workshops, training sessions, internships, and seminars).
3. Providing international and local knowledge, skills, and experience to individuals seeking employment or private business development.
As part of the project, internationally renowned experts will be invited, and master classes from local field representatives and regional practices will be organized.
▫️Participants will have the opportunity to study and share both local and international best practices, focusing on sustainable design goals and strategies. They will collaborate with international experts and TSAA instructors (experts), specifically:
Learning innovative sewing technologies and textile production methods;
Developing a targeted product (from idea to finished product);
Executing creative and applied design forms (textile and rational clothing design).
A special guest, Shingo Sato—a Japanese master of draping techniques and renowned expert in non-traditional pattern-making—was invited to the “Design Lab – Intertextual Synergy in Design.”
Sato’s unconventional approach to clothing design and pattern manipulation is gaining significant attention in the global fashion and design education industry.
▫️The wide audience explored:
How to create clothing blocks based on body shapes using draping techniques;
How to overcome creative limitations;
How to design a series of garments through draping;
How to create wavy design lines and break down dress forms into separate panels;
How combining seams from different materials results in unique, multi-panel models.

The staff mobility contest to the TSAA Design Faculty Erasmus partner – Kastamonu University, Turkey, is announced, for taking part in the International Staff Week, to be held on 14-19 October, 2024.
Staff week is dedicated to Erasmus+ program issues and expanding institutional cooperation..

The selection first phase should be done at the applicant’s faculty/department, and the formal nomination letter should be issued.
The final selection should be done after the host university approval of the candidate.

The artistic ceramics (experimental firing techniques of Raku) course was completed on June 5 at the Tbilisi Apollon Kutateladze State Academy of Art —Continuous Education Center.
A display of the course participants’ works and raku roasting was organized in the courtyard of the Art Academy. The course was led by the artist and associate professor of the Art Academy, Giorgi Pachkoria.
