On April 8, the Museum of Tapestry and Artistic Textiles hosted the presentation of the album “Georgian Tapestry.” This project was realized through the collaborative efforts of the Tbilisi Apollon Kutateladze State Art Academy and the Ministry of Culture and Sports, with generous funding and support from the Ministry. The album serves as a comprehensive showcase of artists spanning various generations who have contributed to the realm of tapestry art. Many of the featured tapestries are housed within the Tapestry and Artistic Textile Museum at the Apollon Kutateladze State Academy of Arts in Tbilisi.

On April 8, Ms. Zuzana Dirda, a professor specializing in graphic arts from the ERASMUS partner institute of the Academy of Arts in Wroclaw, Poland, visited the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Apollon Kutateladze Tbilisi State Academy of Arts. During her visit, Professor Dirda toured the graphics department’s studios, familiarized herself with the educational processes, and held discussions with the rector of the art academy, the department head, and other representatives of the academy.

On April 3, 2024, Gemma Grazia del Olmo, a professor specializing in web design from the ERASMUS partner institution of the Tbilisi State Art Academy – Castellón Higher School of Art (EASD Castello) in Spain, visited the Tbilisi State Art Academy. During the visit, the guest engaged with the rector of TSAA, the dean of the Faculty of Media Arts, and representatives of the Academy of Arts to discuss plans for furthering their longstanding collaboration

This course aims to familiarize students with both traditional and modern techniques used in creating artistic decorative felt. Throughout the duration of the course, participants will learn the intricacies of knitting wool and merino wool, enabling them to produce both two-dimensional and three-dimensional works of art

On March 29, 2024, Professor Gulgeiran Rahimova, Head of the Department of Strategic Development at Baku University of Culture and Arts in Azerbaijan, paid a visit to the Apollon Kutateladze Tbilisi State Art Academy. During the visit, discussions were held with the Academy’s rector and professors specializing in textile design and restoration. The primary agenda item was the collaborative development and implementation of a textile restoration program.

We are excited to announce the addition of a practical Italian language course to the list of foreign languages offered at the Apollon Kutateladze Tbilisi State Art Academy. Credits earned upon completion of this training course will be recognized as additional credits.

Led by Professor Ornella Spano, Education Attaché of the Italian Embassy, this course will provide students with comprehensive instruction in the Italian language.

Thanks to the generosity of the Italian government, supporting manuals for conducting the study program will be provided to us free of charge. These textbooks will be made available in the library of the Academy of Arts for students’ reference and use

The objective of this course is to guide students through the mastery of the drawing process, allowing them to explore free expression on the canvas and develop their painting techniques.

Participants will engage in creating abstract compositions using acrylic paints on both canvas and paper
