The human resources management service of the Tbilisi Apollon Kutateladze State Academy of Arts was visited by the representative of the human resources management service of Joanna Żedzik of the ERASMUS partner institute – Poland, Wroclaw Academy. Within the framework of the visit, the guest got acquainted with the personnel policy of the TSSA and the structure of the Human Resources Management Service, and a discussion was held on future cooperation.

The two winning contestants of the Dresden International Plainer were revealed on May 13, 2024. The team of the Dresden International Plainer, composed of German and Georgian artistic directors, revealed the two winning contestants for “Palais Sommer 2024.”
The winners are: Mariam Okribelashvili and Mate Tskvitinidze, students of the 4th and 3rd year of painting at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts. In July 2024, they will travel to Dresden, create open-air canvases, and participate in the “Culture. Synchronization” exhibition.

A competition is announced for students of the III and IV years of the painting department of the Tbilisi Apollon Kutateladze State Academy of Arts—Faculty of Fine Arts, which will reveal two new participants of the Dresden International Plain Air.

The Dresden International Plain Air is the main component of one of Germany’s largest cultural and educational festivals, Palais Sommer. The students of the Academy of Arts have been involved in it since 2013, at the initiative of the project’s founder, honorary professor of the Academy Alexander-Aleko Adamia (1962-2019).

The competition involves two stages: the students’ works are considered in general and by the plain air specifications, which are selected by the German and Georgian artistic directors of the project. Then, the selected candidates are interviewed. The winners will travel to Dresden, create works with German artists, and participate in various cultural activities. The festival fully funds all travel, living, and working expenses.

27-31 May, Maia Mania, professor of the TSAA Faculty of Restoration, Art history and Theory, held an academic staff Erasmus mobility at the TSAA partner institution Milano Politecnico. The lecture theme – research and comparative anaysis of the buildings in Tbilisi and Milano.

From April 8 to 11, Maya Kifiani, head of TSAA’s International Relations Department and Erasmus institutional coordinator, participated in a training mobility and work practice at the invitation of the Polish Academy of Art and Design ‘The Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design Wroclaw’, TSAA’s Erasmus partner. During the visit, meetings were conducted with professors from the graphics department and a Georgian student on Erasmus mobility, focusing on discussions regarding future cooperation, joint projects, and exchange mobility.

Additionally, on April 12, Maya Kifiani visited another Erasmus partner of TSAA, the Prague Academy of Cinematography FAMU – The Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. Kesane Babunashvili, a student of Erasmus-Zero mobility in TSA cinema art, received special recognition from the Prague Academy. Negotiations were held regarding future cooperation and exchange Erasmus-Zero mobilities.

On April 15, as part of the Erasmus exchange program, professors from two partner universities visited the ceramics department of the Faculty of Design at the Tbilisi State Art Academy. Bozhidar Bonchev from Sofia University in Bulgaria and Firdevs Muzhde Gokbel Yavuzoglu from Kastamonu University in Turkey had the opportunity to engage with the rector of the Academy of Arts, the dean of the faculty, the head of the ceramics department, and other representatives of the Academy. During their visit, the professors toured the studios, and workshops were scheduled for the next five days

On April 13, a significant step towards collaboration was taken as the Tbilisi State Art Academy and the “Silk Road Group” signed a memorandum of cooperation at the Tsinandli estate. The signing coincided with the opening of Kirile Zdanevich’s exhibition at the same venue.

The exhibition showcases 11 works from the collection of Givi Farastashvili, providing a glimpse into Kirile Zdanevich’s artistry. The Tsinandli Museum warmly welcomes visitors for the next two months to experience this extraordinary display of talent
