Prerequisite for admission to the program:

  • Master's academic degree,
  • Foreign language examination (level B II),
  • Presentation in specialty (the presentation format is described in detail in the provisions of the doctoral studies of the Faculty of Restoration, Art History and Theory, art. 5.4).
Annotation:

The Doctoral Program of Conservation and Preservation of Cultural Heritage is designed to train researchers and practitioners in this field. Preservation and conservation of cultural heritage is integrated unity of theoretical and practical training, which fully corresponds to the definition of the so-called “the Document of Pavia”.
The political, as well as philosophical aspects of conservation and preservation of cultural heritage were identified in 1996 in the report of UNESCO Committee on culture and its development (Our Creative Diversity - as a universal right). The field of conservation and preservation of cultural heritage includes prevention of damage of cultural heritage monuments, diagnosis and treatment, which determines the main parameters of this program.

The Program Structure

The doctoral program includes 180 credits and consists of training and research components, including:
  • 1. Learning component - 60 credits;
  • The learning component includes compulsory training courses, seminars and pedagogical practices.
    • The faculty subjects (compulsory) - 20 ECTS
    • Seminar in specialty (compulsory) - 20 ECTS
    • Interdisciplinary Seminar (compulsory, elective) - 10 ECTS
    • Pedagogical practice  -10 ECTS
  • 2. Research component - 120 credits.
  • Research component includes:
    • Colloquiums (2 colloquiums); 20 ECTS
    • Realization of a (qualification) research thesis and its defense / public presentation. 100 ECTS
In each semester, the doctoral student performs 30 credits - training and scientific-research
