Prerequisite for admission to the program: - The applicants who have the qualification of a bachelor of architecture or a bachelor of arts, have passed Unified National Masters Examinations and examinations of TSAA faculty of architecture in foreign language (level B II), will be admitted to this educational program. The entrant's assessment in specialty is carried out by the submitted portfolio and documentation (CV, motivation letter, references)
Brief description of the program: The development of modern technologies has qualitatively changed and diversified forms and aesthetics of visual expression of architectural environment and interior design; gave us the means of presenting and solving problems in original ways.
The use of light and color in architecture (whether it is central, modern or historical areas of a city, park or separate buildings) remains today the most relevant and effective means of visual expression. This, in turn, led to the emergence of a new synthetic direction in architecture.
The master's program “Color and Lighting in Architectural Design” has been functioning at the Faculty of Architecture of the Academy of Arts since 2008. It combines modern theoretical and practical directions of architectural design, the latest theories and practice of modern technologies, methodology of application of lighting and color, aspects of the psychological impact of lighting, color and sound in the environment on a person, engineering disciplines, economic issues.
The program is based on modern methods of teaching and learning and promotes development of intellectual and creative abilities of students.
The current processes in the field of architecture in Georgia during reconstruction and regeneration of new buildings and historical areas made it especially relevant to educate specialists with theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of color and lighting design in architecture.
The graduates of the above-mentioned master's program will be able to create innovative projects of architecture design, taking into account the specifics of the field and integrating obtained information.
