By Decree of the Georgian Government, the status of the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts was changed from the Legal Entity of Public Law to the Non-profit (non-commercial) Legal Entity. During the realignment phase the university will be headed by the Deputy Rector Irena Popiashvili.
