About the program
In 1961, on the basis of the Chair of Ceramics, a glass-plastic section was established. The second study year was the point for being dispersed into different specialties. Since 2005, this specialty has been operating as an independent direction and is included in the Faculty of Design. Glass as a material is no longer considered as a separate unit. It is quite a complicated technological process, an inter-synthesis of various materials, such as, for example, metal, clay, etc. It is precisely the inter-appliance of varied colored materials that gives glass its unique hue. That is why it is widely applied in architecture, for both exteriors and interiors. In our times, the world is already unimaginable without the spatial manipulation of colors and lighting. By means of contemporary glass techniques and technologies, a new visual reality has been created in the existing reality. The policy and strategy of the development of the field as seen from this angle are represented in the BA and MA programs of the glass direction, which are conducted by highly professional staff with facilities equipped in a modern way. It produces graduates who are creative and high skilled professionals in the glass direction.
